Tooth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

 

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. 

 

We also offer patients the option of coming into the office and having our trained staff administer a higher strength whitening solution to teeth to increase the rate of whitening and give the teeth whitening process a boost. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

 

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up maybe needed every several years, and more often if you smoke, drink coffee, tea, or wine.

Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures. Implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances.

 

Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!

 

Dental implants are very strong, stable, and durable and will last many years, but on occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.

 

You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new implant.

 

DENTURES

 

If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from a denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You’ll be able to eat and speak—things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost. There are various types of complete and partial dentures.

 

A conventional full denture is made and placed in the patient’s mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed which may take several months. An immediate complete denture is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. The dentist takes measurements and makes models of the patient’s jaws during a preliminary visit. With immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. 

 

For patients with a number of missing teeth on either your upper or lower jaw a partial denture might be recommended. Partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases, which are connected by metal framework. 

 

A partial denture stops several problems. By filling in spaces, it stops neighboring teeth from shifting. When missing teeth aren’t replaced, it can set off a chain reaction that might result in cavities and periodontal disease. Partial dentures are helpful to balance your bite, which means better chewing and a healthier jaw joint. And, partials add support to the cheeks and lips. This support is necessary for clear speaking and proper facial appearance.
